Platinum Jubilee Celebrations Saturday

There will be something for everyone with plenty of food and drink to tickle those taste-buds and interesting wares to browse on the artisans’ stalls. There will be a Samworth Brothers Truck Cab, a WWII Tank and the Callington Fire Tender together with
Vintage and Classic Cars to drool over. Make sure that you get along to The Cornwall Bakery to sample their delicious offerings.

Don’t forget to enter the Walking Carnival at 11am – everyone welcome. For the children Billy Wiz will be making an appearance and there will be a Vintage Fun Fair. For young and old, why not take up the challenge of Portable Putts?
During the day there will be several performances to enjoy: The Minack Theatre will bring you ‘The Kiss that Missed’. The Little Prince’s goodnight kiss has gone missing. It’s escaped into the forest where it has no business to be, so the brave and fearless knight is sent on a mission to bring it back… But is he brave and fearless enough? This classic picture-book is a favourite bedtime
story so prepare to be enchanted once again by this adventure.
In Zoo Humans The Urban Playground Team brings the thought provoking Attenborough’s smooth narrative to a reality in which a group of humans have forgotten how to move. Created as a response to the news that a third of the UK’s children spend less time outdoors than our prisoners, the UPG Team’s new show is currently touring the UK and internationally.

The Grimm Sisters will enthral you with their story-telling. You know the Brothers Grimm? The famous storytellers…or story stealers more like! Their sisters were the true brains behind the books, but thanks to a treacherous father, a nasty curse and a great big dollop of bad luck, you’ve probably never heard of them. Dive headfirst into their weird world of poisonous parents, courageous quests & a magical frog called Jeremy (Jeremy is not to be trusted).
With bars provided by The Cornish Ancestor and The Bull’s Head to slake your thirst and plenty of opportunity to top up with soft drinks, the day will be rounded off by a great local band. The MORZIM are four seasoned musicians from Cornwall, all of whom lived their teenage years through the mid 70’s to early 80’s, and who decided in 2007 to collaborate and recreate the music they grew up with. Their aim is to present a frenetic assault on the senses for those that also grew up with Post-Punk Brit-Pop, Mod, New-Wave and SKA. From the upbeat tempo of The Jam, Teardrop Explodes, Billy Idol, The Vapors, XTC, The Cure and Undertones to the diverse sound of The Police, The English Beat, Elvis Costello and Joe Jackson, they should not be missed!
